Lilith: A Feminist History Journal is a fully refereed journal committed to publishing articles and reviews in all areas of feminist history. Lilith currently publishes one issue annually. We are currently seeking submissions for the 2009 edition.
We seek historical work of 6000 words (including endnotes) focusing on women, gender, sexuality and related issues. We also accept interdisciplinary work with a historical focus.
Submissions considered for publication are assessed via a double-blind peer review process. We encourage contributions from both new and established scholars in these fields, as well as postgraduates. All submissions should be based on substantial, original historical work. Please ensure you read the style guide thoroughly before submitting your work.
Following last year's symposium we particularly welcome papers around the theme of Historicizing reproduction and parenthood. Possible topics may include: abortion, IVF, surrogacy, stem cell research, “designer” babies, queer parenthood, adoption, rights of indigenous parents, maternity (paternity) leave – parental leave, work/life balance, work based discrimination, systemic wage inequality, child care, public breast feeding, maternal feminism, race-thought and motherhood, ‘welfare mothers’.
